Recent internal data shows about $3 billion in land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale in the Equality State. The overall size of land for sale in the state is 758,565 acres. Of Wyoming's 23 counties, Lincoln County had the most land for sale. There were 3,094 acres of sold land in Wyoming recorded in January 2019 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a 17 percent increase in sales activity over the previous month, with a combined land value of $5 million for all property and land sold in the state. Albany County saw the most land sales recently in the state. Wyoming is a mecca for fly-fishers looking to cast for trophy brook trout, brown trout, rainbows, and native cutthroat trout in the state's 27,000 miles of blue-ribbon fishable streams. The state also boasts more than 22 species of game fish, including sunfish, crappie, yellow perch, whitefish, pike, and sturgeon. WalletHub, a personal finance website, has ranked the state among the ten best states for retirees based on factors including affordability, quality of life and health care. Wyoming ranks among the country's ten largest states in terms of size, covering an area of 97,818 square miles (63 million acres). Of this area, 97,093 square miles covers land area, while the remaining 720 square miles is covered by water. Wildlife to be found on land for sale in Wyoming include mule deer, whitetail deer, elk, geese, ducks, bear, grouse, and turkey. Fishermen can enjoy casting for trout, catfish, and bass.
